UC BRAID, or University of California Biomedical Research Acceleration, Integration, and Development, is a network of five UC campuses - Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco. Formed in 2010, the UC BRAID consortium aims to accelerate research and improve health through collaboration, sharing resources, and infrastructure development. We connect researchers and administrators to solve problems, increase opportunities, and create efficiency of scale. Our platform of shared governance acts as a catalyst for collaboration, enabling us to amplify individual work and multiply its impact.
UC BRAID’s priorities are 1) Developing structures to support the interface between research and clinical care and 2) Creating infrastructure and driving harmonization to increase efficiency in clinical and translational research (e.g., informatics - led by the UC-Research eXchange consortium (UC-ReX), contracting and IRB processes, and participant recruitment).
