The purpose of this metric is to estimate the current accrual ratio for clinical trials in order to enhance our ability to develop performance interventions that increase actual participant accrual into clinical trials within the planned time period.
NEW UPDATE
Currently, hubs’ efforts continue to focus on the COVID-19 pandemic. Research activities at your institutions may continue to be paused or slowed including recruitment. NCATS and CLIC recognize the impact it has on data collection for the Median Accrual Ratio metric. Our goal is to fully understand the capacity and resources required to collect data, and given the current environment, this presents significant challenges.
For these reasons, the MAR expanded pilot will continue to be on a delay until a future date. We recognize the value and the importance of this metric. This delay will allow for the collection of a more complete data set and increase the likelihood for a successful expanded pilot outcome. Hubs are encouraged to start or continue with individual efforts towards the implementation of the metric.
The Median Accrual Ratio Hub Participation Survey Report is available here (a CLIC account is required to view this document).
