COALESCE is a free online educational resource developed by Northwestern University researchers to foster cross-disciplinary, collaborative research in the health sciences. COALESCE features four online modules - an introduction to the science of team science (SciTS) and three modules focused on particular applied areas: basic biomedical, behavioral, and clinical medical sciences. The SciTS modules house short videos, animations, and activities covering a wide range of introductory topics, including assembling, managing, and evaluating a team.

The CTSA Collaborative Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) Workgroup identified a need to provide guidance, training and resources in DSMB practices for investigator-initiated research studies. To promote clinical and translational research, the CTSA Collaborative DSMB Workgroup, supported by NCATS, has produced an online DSMB Training Manual with a focus on investigator-initiated studies. The Regulatory Affairs Training Program is 6 weeks and consists of weekly discussions and lectures combined with independent study. There will be opportunities to review and discuss different types of regulatory submissions, including Investigational New Drug applications (INDs) and Investigational Device Exemptions (IDEs). Participants will also have the opportunity to attend an IRB meeting on-site.
Enrollment to the program occurs on a rolling calendar basis and the program is offered remotely via Webex.
