Addressing Disparities, Implicit Bias & the "Isms" in Clinical & Translational Research

Objectives:

  1. Review historical & epidemiologic findings related to racial/ethnic disparities in health & health care in the US.
  2. Discuss how implicit bias, stereotyping, & the “isms” can impact the clinical encounter & related challenges in undertaking disparities research.
  3. Share helpful resources for engaging & partnering with communities involved in health equity research.
  4. Examine two case studies as a group.​
