The Importance of Causal Models in Making Sense of (Big) Data

Vasant Honavar, professor and Edward Frymoyer Chair of Information Sciences and Technology, Penn State, will present “The Importance of Causal Models in Making Sense of (Big) Data” at the next Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) Recent Topics in Research Methods Seminar Series. This Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute seminar will be held 4 to 5 p.m. March 19 at 116 Henderson, University Park. It will also be streamed to room 2008 at Academic Support Building at Penn State College of Medicine, and will stream online. A streaming link is provided upon registration.

The Recent Topics in Research Methods Seminar Series features lectures on fundamental research methods in the fall semester with more advanced topics in the spring semester. Statisticians and methodologists from multiple Penn State departments present these seminars
