Inflammasomes: The 2021 Symposium

banner with relevant info

This inaugural, regional virtual research symposium hosted by the VCU Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research in collaboration with Eastern Virginia Medical School and Virginia State University will focus on the biology of inflammasomes and the therapeutic potential of inhibiting the inflammasome in diseases.

The inflammasome is a macromolecular structure that is central to the inflammatory response with clear implication in many diseases states, including infectious disease, heart disease, cancer and addiction. Researchers have developed models to study how the inflammasome contributes to the progression of disease and how the function of the inflammasome can be inhibited to reduce disease severity and promote health. Clinical trials are currently underway to evaluate the efficacy of inflammasome inhibitors.

Our panel of experts will present the latest investigations and discuss the exciting future of inflammasome research.

Free.
