Research presentation: Health research in Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills

photo of Kigali Rwanda

Dennis Hopkinson, M.D., traveled to Kigali on a Fulbright Scholarship in 2018 where he taught at the University of Rwanda. Dennie Hopkinson

The hospitalist at VCU Health and assistant professor of Internal Medicine at the VCU School of Medicine collaborated with local Kigali researchers on multiple projects while he was there, and work has continued remotely.

Join Hopkinson for a presentation of his research into sepsis, barriers to taking blood pressure medications and a Vitamin C clinical trial.

How can health care in Kigali inform providers’ work in the United States? What’s different and what’s the same about health research?

Hopkinson will also discuss a soon-to-be-launched project working to understand delivery of critical care – in order to improve critical care education in Rwanda.

Register online.

The presentation is part of the Discovery Dialogues series from the Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research where VCU researchers present on their health research in an accessible format.
