Research in the Time of COVID-19: Improving Research Efficiency during a Public Health Crisis

The Virginia Commonwealth University hub will describe how they used the Common Metrics as a springboard to collaborate with their Institutional Review Board to better monitor their IRB performance.

Objectives:

• Explain the challenges requiring the need for aligned operational definitions and harmonized data collection.
• Demonstrate the newly designed database used across university departments.
• Describe how the new database benefitted the institution and investigators during the COVID-19 health crisis.
