Communications and Marketing Manager - All of Us Wisconsin
The All of Us Research Program (AoU) is a major initiative of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The program is working to engage at least one million volunteers living in the U.S. to contribute their health data over many years to improve health outcomes, fuel the development of new treatments for disease, and catalyze a new era of evidence-based and more precise preventive care and medical treatment. All of Us Wisconsin (AoU) Communications and Marketing Manager (CMM) will join a join a team of professionals located at UW-Madison, one of four Wisconsin sites for the All of Us program. The CMM will serve as the "voice of the program" presenting it in the best possible light and articulating its importance to research and to health care delivery to a wide array of diverse audiences. This position will support the marketing and communications strategy of the national and local programs, including how we effectively engage and retain individuals in the AoU research program over time. The CMM will also be expected to interface with communications and marketing staff at the other AoU partner sites (Marshfield Clinic, The Medical College of Wisconsin and the Gunderson Healthcare System). The CMM will play a key cross-functional leadership role for AoU-UW, coordinating communicating activities across multiple teams, functions, and partners in collaboration with the AoU principal investigators and program area leads for enrollment, engagement, retention, and compliance. These responsibilities will fall into four primary areas:
-Development and management, in collaboration with the AoU-UW Milwaukee Communications Coordinator, of the AoU-UW marketing and communications plan and budgets focused on external marketing and communications activities designed to support recruitment and retention of diverse AoU Research Program participants.
-Operational leadership, coordination, and support of communications and marketing activity for AoU-UW in collaboration with other sites in the AoU-Wisconsin Consortium.
-Development and implementation of communications and marketing support for outreach and engagement events planned by the AoU-UW Community Engagement teams in Madison and Milwaukee.
-Evaluation of the effectiveness or reach of communications and marketing activities.
-Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues on site and at remote sites.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and experience using InDesign.
-Bachelor's degree required. Degree in marketing, journalism, communications, and/or related field preferred.
-Minimum of two years of professional experience in marketing or communications, preferably in a health care, public health and/or non-profit setting.
-Demonstrated commitment to and experience with diversity and equity, including experience working with diverse communities.
-Experience working with print and broadcast media.
-Experience using Microsoft Suite.
-Proven experience with planning, organizing, and implementing projects, establishing project scope, and evaluating project implementation success, including identifying and implement needed modifications.
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently as well as part of a team.
-Proven experience working successfully with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, funders, and off-campus, community audiences.
-Familiarity with Madison and surrounding areas, especially local media.
