To elicit participant feedback on the 2019 CTSA Informatics Community Face-to-Face Meeting.
On March 29th, 2019 the CTSA Informatics Community Face-to-Face Meeting took place at the Parc 55 San Francisco Hotel between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM. An evaluation survey was given in both hard copy as well as email form to all meeting participants. The survey consisted of both quantitative and qualitative questions pertaining to the 3 subsections of the meeting: Meeting Content, Meeting Logistics and the Overall Meeting. Of the 66 meeting attendees, 27 evaluations were collected for a response rate of 41%.
With regard to meeting content, all respondents agreed that the meeting was a valuable addition to ongoing teleconferences, and the topics covered in the meeting were valuable. However, 7 respondents (nearly 26% of respondents) indicated that they do not understand the next steps for participating in the working and community groups in 2019.
Survey results concerning meeting logistics confirm that the majority of respondents were satisfied with the meeting location including both the hotel and meeting facilities. In terms of timing, the majority of participants indicated they were satisfied with the amount of time allotted for each of the three breakout sessions.
Overall, results of the evaluation indicate that attendees of the meeting were pleased with their experience. The average score of the meeting overall was 8.81, and the median was 9. Comments reflect that both the networking opportunities and breakout discussions were highly valued by participants. Also, many respondents suggest a longer meeting duration.
*Please Note: Both online and paper copies of the survey evaluation were distributed among meeting attendees. All but two questions were exactly the same. Data collected for the two questions that were worded with slight difference were displayed in the same visual in this report given that the questions were thematically similar.
