Enhancing Human Health Through Collaboration on Companion Animal Research

The vibrant partnership between the UC Davis School of Medicine (SOM) and School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) goes back to the inception of the medical school in 1972. The SVM is a premier veterinary school ranked 1st in federal funding. The UC Davis SOM is one of the fastest rising U.S. medical schools with regard to research and has advanced from 57th to 29th in NIH ranking since the inception of the CTSC in 2008. This dynamic partnership spans the education, research, and service missions and provides an ideal environment for the CTSC to catalyze translational research at the interdisciplinary boundaries of humans, animals, and their shared environment.
