UICentre drug discovery @ UIC

Drug Discovery at UIC

UICentre is a campus-wide small molecule drug discovery initiative at the University of Illinois at Chicago associated with the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences (CTSA). Using established core instrumentation and with modest annual support, UICentre was conceived to utilize existing resources to leverage the expertise of scientist and clinicians teams across campus in collaborative engagement in translational research on small molecule therapeutics.

The mission of UICentre is to use cultural, technical, and educational resources at UIC to engage multi-disciplinary teams in a collaborative environment to discover novel small molecule therapeutic agents. We create and support multidisciplinary collaborations that transform basic science projects into drug discovery initiatives. Our goal is to improve the treatment and management of human diseases by applying translational drug discovery skills to leverage basic scientific knowledge.
