KL2 Program Manager

VCU Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research seeks talented individuals to help promote translational workforce development and experienced based training in clinical and translational research (CTR) and advance CTR methods and processes to speed translation, build collaborations and optimize resources within VCU and within the CTSA network.

The KL2 Program Manager in Wright Center for Clinical & Translational Research supports the educational goals, mission and programming of the Wright Center by providing high-quality and specialized program support of the Center’s pre-faculty and junior faculty career development and translational workforce development initiatives. 

Qualifications: Skills

Required Skills:

•Ability to identify key learning needs, prepare content and coordinate workshops, seminars and e-learning opportunities for Center constituents and stakeholders.

•Basic understanding of NIH grant submission process as it relates to trainees and junior faculty.

•Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

•Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Skills:

•Knowledge of scientific writing; clearly, accurately, and engagingly conveying complex scientific, clinical and translational research in long and short form for a variety of audiences, including investigators, and the scientific and participant communities across a variety of platforms.

•Knowledge of scientific and research concepts, with thorough understanding of federal, state, and University regulations governing protection of human research subjects in the conduct of the research; sponsors policies on research dissemination; and University and sponsor policies for licensed and copyrighted discoveries and publications.

Qualifications: Experience

•Bachelor’s degree required in health, science, research communication or related discipline or combination of relevant experience, education, and training.

•Master’s degree preferred.

•A minimum of three years relevant experience in research with emphasis on research communication and engagement or related field.
