To elicit participant feedback on the 2019 Spring Collaboration and Engagement Meeting
On March 5th, 2019 the Spring Collaboration and Engagement Meeting was held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel between 1:00 and 4:00 PM. On Monday, March 11th, an evaluation survey was sent to all 163 attendees. The survey was composed of both quantitative and qualitative questions pertaining to the 3 subsections of the meeting: Meeting Content, Meeting Logistics and the Overall Meeting. A total of 46 unique responses were cultivated from the survey for a 28.2% response rate, and each was analyzed individually.
With regard to meeting content, most participants agreed that the topics discussed were valuable and that the meeting was a valuable addition to ongoing teleconferences. However, 22.7% of participants felt that not enough networking time was allotted. In terms of meeting logistics, more than half of survey participants were very satisfied with the online registration process, CLIC on-site assistance, and meeting facilities, including hotels.
Overall, the average rating of the meeting was a 7.91, and the median was an 8. Comments reflect that the 1-minute presentations and the ability to network were particularly helpful. However, participants indicate that they would like to see improvements in meeting agenda and topics, including more time to network and collaborate. Additionally, participants implied that future discussion topics should include work groups and shared challenges as well as success stories. Overall, participants were satisfied with the meeting.
