Initial Evaluation: Clinical Research in the COVID-era and Beyond Un-Meeting

Purpose

To elicit participant feedback on the 2020 Clinical Research in the COVID-era and Beyond Un-Meeting.

Executive Summary

On Monday, September 30, 2020 an Un-Meeting addressing the topics of Clinical Research in the COVID-Era and Beyond was held virtually via ON24, an online platform. The Un-Meeting aimed to cover important topics in research, encourage new collaborations, and generate new ideas. An evaluation survey was sent to all meeting participants following the Un-Meeting to examine how well the meeting goals were achieved. The evaluation addressed Future Collaboration, New Topics, CLIC Opportunities and Overall Value.

An initial email invitation with a link to the survey and one subsequent reminder were sent to attendees at the conclusion of the Un-Meeting. At the conclusion of the online data collection, only nine responses were received from the total of 78 attendees, for a response rate of 11.5%. All nine respondents reported being “Satisfied” or “Very Satisfied” with the registration process (n=9,100.0%) and with the ON24 virtual platform (n=7, 100.0%).

The majority of the respondents “Agreed” or “Strongly Agreed” that the Un-Meeting addressed their expectations (n=7, 77.8%). The majority of the respondents also “Agreed” or “Strongly Agreed” that the topics covered by the Un-Meeting were valuable (n=8, 88.8%). A total of five respondents intend to pursue collaborative actions as a result if the Un-Meeting. Those who chose “Other” specified “Investigate new approaches for data analysis approaches” and “Regarding powering studies in the modern era”.

The survey included questions regarding benefits attendees experienced as a result of attending the Un-Meeting including a new perspective on the subject (n=4, 80.0%), and role and operation of CTSA/CTSI (n=3, 60.0%).
