UNC, NC State scientists work together to print human body tissues
North Carolina State University (NCSU), in Raleigh, North Carolina and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) have teamed up and are creating new body tissues for patient’s using their own cells.
The biomedical engineers and researchers use bioprinting to attempt replication of natural tissue. This advancement could help patients avoid major cartilage and meniscus surgeries.
NCSU is a partner institution of the North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute, the integrated hub of the CTSA at UNC-CH.
