Project on rural communities benefits from collaboration with Highmark Health

A project to better understand the issues facing rural communities and address a decline in American life expectancy is benefiting from a partnership between Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute and Highmark Health Enterprise Analytics Data Science Research. The Data Science Research group is supporting the project through its expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence to improve healthcare understanding and outcomes.

14th Annual UK CCTS Conference on Health Policy, Systems Change Draws 1,000 Participants

The conference focused on the science of health policy and systems change as strategies for population-level health improvement. Nearly 1000 researchers, clinicians, students, community partners, and local and national experts gathered Monday, April 15th to share findings, disseminate best practices, and catalyze collaborations. More than 300 posters presentations were presented, along with 12 podium presentations by CCTS trainees and 6 by graduates of the Community Leadership of Institute of Kentucky. 

The University of Florida (UF) Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and the UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) have been selected as this year’s recipients of CLIC funds and support to host a CTSA Program-wide Un-Meeting. Their event will focus on catalyzing new collaborations to bridge the translational science and agricultural extension sectors to improve rural health and health equity.
