2022 BIP Drug Discovery Awardees

2022 awardees of the OCTRI Biomedical Innovation Program drug discovery track: Drs. Jonathan Pruneda, Sanjay Malhotra, and Ruth Napier.

In collaboration with OHSU Innovates, the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute (OCTRI) announced two new funded projects for the 2022 drug discovery track of the Biomedical Innovation Program. This program supports drug discovery platforms and early-stage therapeutic technology projects, including validation of drug targets and development of small molecules, antibodies, vaccines or biologics. Funded projects and awardees for 2022 include:

  • UBA5: Screening compounds for therapeutic potential awarded to co-investigators Drs. Jonathan Pruneda, Sanjay Malhotra, and Ruth Napier
  • Triple-negative breast cancer: Moving a small molecule therapy toward clinical trials awarded to principle investigator Dr. Sanjay Malhotra
