“While we occasionally share opportunities across the consortium, I’m eager to have a go-to resource for attracting diverse, broad and highly relevant candidate pools” - Eric P. Rubinstein, J.D., M.P.H.
The Center for Leading Innovation and Collaboration (CLIC) today announced the launch of their Opportunities Board, which will serve as a professional development resource for members of the translational science community. The tool, available to members of the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program and beyond, allows individuals and employers to find and post jobs, internships, sabbatical resources and training opportunities related to translational science – all within the CLIC’s site.
The CLIC, which serves as the coordinating center for the CTSA Program, designed this resource in an effort to support translational science workforce development, and fill a need in that workforce for a space where potential candidates and employers could easily connect.
“There are plenty of targeted job sites for those in higher education or marketing or engineering, but what didn’t seem to be available, was a site dedicated and tailored to opportunities in translational science,” said Erika Augustine, M.D., M.S., core lead, CLIC Program Collaborations. “We decided to change that.”
The positions listed on the Opportunities Board originate from their corresponding institutions and are reviewed by the CLIC prior to being published, distinguishing this tool from job sourcing sites that round up a variety of internet postings. This process helps prevent dated and/or irrelevant opportunities from cluttering the board, streamlining the process for site visitors.
The CTSA Program hubs are excited about the prospect of having direct access to a wide range of talent, both within the CTSA Program network and the translational science community at large.
“While we occasionally share opportunities across the consortium, I’m eager to have a go-to resource for attracting diverse, broad and highly relevant candidate pools,” said Eric P. Rubinstein, J.D., M.P.H., chief of staff, Clinical & Translational Science Institute, University of Rochester.
The Opportunities Board will be regularly updated with new listings. Employers are encouraged to post applicable opportunities at clic-ctsa.org/opportunities_board. Questions can be directed to email@example.com.
