This annotated slide set introduces study teams to the NIH Inclusion Across the Lifespan Policy, and describes barriers and solutions to inclusion of older adults in research. It can be viewed as an individual teaching module. In addition, researchers are encouraged to use/adapt this presentation for trainings with their own teams. It covers topics such as strategies for recruitment of older adults, study adaptations to make it easier to include older adults, and measuring outcomes important to older adults.
At the end of the training, those participating should be able to:
1. Describe the NIH Inclusion Across the Lifespan Policy and how that impacts clinical trials
2. Recognize barriers to older adult participation in research
3. Gain skills to ensure broader inclusion of older adults in research trials
